Although a rare occurrence, women may experience tubular breast deformity following breast augmentation. This is often referred to as “constricted breast deformity,” “double bubble breast deformity,” or “double bubble deformity.” A highly qualified breast surgeon, Gerald Minniti, M.D., F.A.C.S. of Beverly Hills can help you correct tubular breast deformity. With the artistic eye of a sculptor and sketcher, Dr. Minniti can provide aesthetically pleasing results.
Based on each individual’s anatomy and extent of the deformity, Dr. Minniti will create a personalized surgical plan. Typically, women who experience tubular breasts, which is a very narrow base and long skin envelope, undergo a circumareolar breast reduction (“reduction mammoplasty”) and lift (“mastopexy”), with the use of breast implants.
This procedure entails making incisions around the areola (nipple) and removing excess tissue. Our Beverly Hills breast surgeon will then lift the breasts to a more youthful position and insert either saline or silicone gel breast implants. Dr. Minniti will recommend the best choice during your consultation and determine implant placement. He may place them below the breast (subglandular); below the pectoralis muscle (subpectoral), or below all the chest wall muscles (submuscular).
In addition to tubular breast surgery, Dr. Minniti also performs other breast surgery procedures. The most common includes breast augmentation surgery (“augmentation mammaplasty”) with the use of saline or silicone gel breast implants. You may see examples of previous patient results in breast surgery before and after photos.
